Save the Children- Invisible Children

 http://vimeo.com/invisible/kony2012

GET INVOLVED. STOP AT NOTHING. THE WORLD MUST KNOW.
I dare you to stop scrolling through your dashboard. Stop checking your Facebook newsfeed that you’ve already checked two seconds ago. Stop updating your Twitter and seeing what your favorite celebrities are saying. Stop watching funny and nonsense videos on Youtube. Take time to educate yourself to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in this world. This is your chance! WATCH THIS VIDEO.
Let’s make JOSEPH KONY Famous!!!
Who is JOSEPH KONY?
He is THE WORST LIVING CRIMINAL. He abducts children and makes them use guns to kill their own parents. He takes girls and forces them to be sex slaves. He calls his abducted children the Lord’s Resistance Army, AKA the LRA. He has abducted over 30,000 children and forced them to be child soldiers in Central Africa. He remains at large because he is INVISIBLE to the world. FEW know his name, even FEWER know his crimes. WE ARE MAKING HIM FAMOUS! Because when he is, the world will unite against him and demand his arrest.
We can help make a change. We can make a difference.
I feel so inspired. I feel the need to help and make a difference. This has to happen in 2012. We can’t let him go around and keep doing this to children in Central Africa. Let’s make his name known so he can be stopped. HE CAN NO LONGER BE INVISIBLE!

Another Day

Here is today (Saturday the 11th) outfit. Consisting of a striped shirt, and cropped yoga's from Old Navy. My suede orange Birks' and a long black camisole from ASOS Curve! I put some weird "artistic" brush on the photo since it was blurry.

It was a study in the library and water color kind of day so comfort was key. But it was actually lovely outside for once. So Nautical seemed appropriate.
Here are a few of the watercolors I'm practicing on. Some are photo's from Pinterest, others from the magnificently talented paperfashion.net. I own none of the rights to these I was just practicing with them the images originally belong to their owners I've just been practicing coloring them. I wanted to share them with you...

Please remember these are practices. I hope that after a while we can all see improvement in the skills I'm trying to work on.

An Update. Hurray

So Sorry for the lack of posts...anyways.

So There is this thing called Fatshion February where bloggers of all shapes and sizes post an outfit for each day of February. The casual to the spectacular. So I'm doing this, partially drawn and partially photographed. They are quick and are meant to show everyday people. So here we go!

First three days. 1: Forever 21 skirt, Black V-neck and Wedges from Old Navy. 2: Over-sized button down, printed blazer are thrifted from Goodwill, black yoga pants from Old Navy, Turtle smoking slippers from Etsy. 3: Giant blue wool scarf was a birthday present years ago, sweater gifted from a friend, coral skinny jeans from ASOS, turtle smoking slippers from Etsy.com

4: Old Navy jeans and orange over shirt and undershirt, Turtle slippers from Etsy.com 5:Cami from Maurices, Old Navy jeans, Turtle Slippers from Etsy (obviously my new favorite shoes) 6: red flannel from Goodwill, lime green mini from Forever 21+, black leggings from Old Navy, black boots from Blowefish.
Sorry about the blurry picture but this is my relatively new chair necklace. I'm obsessed!! Forever 21

Day 7: Thrift Store button down, black bejeweled sweater, lace skinnies and chair necklace from Forever 21+, black Blowfish boots, AVON lipstick.

Love Love my Roomies Lipstick collection!

New snake ring from "The Lucky Monkey" in Bellingham

Wanted to try different nails as we approach Valentines Day. Got the idea from Refinery 29.

Day 8: Slub day. Cut out HP shirt from Torrid, lace skinny jeans from Forever 21+, Birkenstock

Halloween outfit that still makes me smile.

I'm addicted to the cat eye currently.
Day 9: Old Navy: shirt, jeans. Thrifted suspenders, and Birkenstock.
Day 10 is high stress test day. So white button down from goodwill, and Coral skinny jeans from ASOS with my Chucks.

So that's that for now, I'll probably update weekly, and do my best to keep up.
Hope ya'll are well.

Random House of Fun

All done in graphite pencil and accented with gel pen. These are two of my favorite style bloggers. And a style bloggers lovely pair of shoes.
So hope everyone's 2012 is off to an alright start. Mine has been super stress filled already. But what else is new with my life. I've been having little time for drawing except some forced drawing for my portfolio. Hopefully the third time is the charm. Too bad I can't just get a degree from traveling around the world and interacting with other people in various cultures. I think that would be ideal. Oh well. I'm hoping once school dies down to do some killer watercolor pieces and design a new line of clothes. I've been meaning and wanting to desperately so. Also I've become addicted to Pinterest. Oh boy I love the inspiration coming from that site it's fantastic. You should definitely check it out. Any who here is what I've been playing around with and subsequently working on for the last week and a half. In addition to studying for three mid terms and pulling my hair out.
A beautiful picture was up on Deviantart.com and I had to try drawing it. Good practice definitely.

Also I've been a naughty girl and did an ASOS.com haul and got some great pieces I shall be wearing constantly until they are completely and utterly worn out.

I got a pair of  orange pants, which I have been obsessively looking for and there is no luck finding none terrible looking orange pants for people over a size 14 so I waited, and ASOS answered my prayers. Orange skinny jeans but beggars can't be choosers.  Plus these will go in my boots. Plus I got some really black skinny jeans once again wanted boot cut but again will go great with boots, and then a blowy top to go with them in a neutral tone. I've been wanting the shirt with chair print, but I'm waiting for a sale because a piece of ploy/cotton blend is not worth 63$.

Keep it fierce ya'll

I'll be posting some of the outfits with these pieces soon as soon as they arrive.

Yes Yes

An outfit I wore the other week. I'm in love with the fit and flare ie skater style out right now.

I've been rocking my bright orange Goodwill cardigan hard with a simple white dress shirt underneath. It's the easiest thing to pull on and still look like you thought about it that morning.

Trying to learn how to use colored pencils in a way that their texture won't annoy me.

Update on Pieces

So here is the promised update on the "Subjective" pieces I've been working on. Also I've included the swatches and colored renderings I did for last quarters Costume Final. I'm not sure if I really like them, but at least they are period accurate in style. Although not accurate in color, which I felt was fine for the purposes I was using it for. The play was A Midsummer's' Nights Dream. Also a quick self portrait I was playing around with. Photo's aren't super great sorry.

Hope everyone had a safe and wonderful holidays and a spectacular new years eve. Happy 2012!

and remember.
